Where's Detroit?

 

Detroit, Motorcity, Motown

 whatever you choose to call it.

But can you call it home?

I was told where there's home, there's family.

I was also told that families take care of each other.

Being in Detroit you don't see many beautiful houses,

family unity or established businesses,

But it's there.

You also may not see corrupt business deals being done 

 It's there too.

In Detroit, it's everyman for themselves,

 Do what you want "No Holds Barred"

 just don't get caught.

Now, I don't know about you but that doesn't  sound like family.

If there's no family, there's no home.

So for everyone born in Detroit and managed to get out,

 don't get homesick, you can't go home again.

Because there is no home.

FAT-VS-FOOD

I just saw an interesting story on obesity by Dr. Oz.

There was a young lady under the age of 30 weighing at least 700lbs.

Now I can stand to lose at least 4 maybe 5lbs.(O.K. 10

but this is not about me.)

The young lady was to be married but found out due to her weight, she could have no children. 

Dr. Oz took the young lady to the morgue to show her the effects of being overweight.

She was asked to hold the actual fat of a person who died due to complications of obesity.

After seeing all this fat and actually weighing it and being surprised by how heavy it was, she still continued to lose the battle with fast food and pastries.

I am not Jesus so I must not judge, and once again, I have lost a few battles with pastries as well but is it such a defeat worth losing life over. 

A Must See !!

Now I know I'm late with this one but for those of us late timers it's understandable.
I checked out Reign On Me Starring:
Adam Sandler, Donald Cheatham, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Kiefer Sutherland.
I have never been an Adam Sandler fan but this movie has changed my mind.
Not only is his talent showing but he brought out the realization of mental disease.
Thanks to the help of the talented Cheatham, this movie was so inspiring and real that it is a must-see.
(of course if you have'nt already seen it.)
