Where's Detroit?

 

Detroit, Motorcity, Motown

 whatever you choose to call it.

But can you call it home?

I was told where there's home, there's family.

I was also told that families take care of each other.

Being in Detroit you don't see many beautiful houses,

family unity or established businesses,

But it's there.

You also may not see corrupt business deals being done 

 It's there too.

In Detroit, it's everyman for themselves,

 Do what you want "No Holds Barred"

 just don't get caught.

Now, I don't know about you but that doesn't  sound like family.

If there's no family, there's no home.

So for everyone born in Detroit and managed to get out,

 don't get homesick, you can't go home again.

Because there is no home.
